One Blog at a time....

Initially this was going to be my blog, a place to talk about my interests, a place to post my opinion, a place to vent! For the past three months, my life has been so crazy and hectic, I haven't had time to make more than, well, I haven't had time to make any posts. But....after lots of analyzing and I mean lots (way too much for a blog) I have decided to add another blog and focus more on keeping our family and friends updated on what is going on with us while we are in Colorado. The blog I added is wywyandwalkie@blogspot.com and I'm going to try to update it as much as possible :). I am going to use this blog page for me! But as any mommy knows, most of the time there is no "me". I hope to post again soon, but for now I need to get in there and wash the dishes before baby boy wakes up.

Mommy vs. Leftover Birthday Cake

Yesterday ended up being a great birthday! I don't think anyone forgot my birthday yesterday. I got calls from my entire family (that's a first) and e-mails and messages from tons of great friends! Most importantly I spent the entire day with my 3 main men - Daddy, Walker and Wy. I also got to end the day with great neighbors and of course birthday cake! Let me just say, I am a sugar addict so I love all sweets - chocolate, ice cream, cookies, whatever. In saying that I must also tell you that birthday cake is my absolute favorite dessert. I mean, me turning down a piece of bithday cake is like Oprah working out -- it just don't happen! So anyway, after the cake had been scarfed down I inevitably start to badmouth myself "why did I just eat that", "i'm never going to lose this baby weight", "that was so stupid" and so on and so on. I was just about to chunk the rest of the cake in the trash can when a great idea popped into my head. Instead of beating myself up like always, how about turning this into a "willpower" opportunity. I will not let this cake defeat me!! I will not throw it away! I will stare it in the eye -- everyday -- until it's fat laden pittiful little self rots away! I will leave it on the bar in the kitchen so I see it all day everyday! This is going to be awesome. I'm going to build some kick butt willpower and I'm doing it today! Happy Birthday to Me!

Well here goes a shot at starting a blog. It's something I have wanted to do for a while now, I just never found the time to actually sit down and get it started. It looks like tonight might be a good time to start since it’s my 32 birthday! I have to thank my AWESOME neighbor for making this blog possible as she was so kind to set it up for me and make the pretty backgrounds. She is also the one who indirectly motivated me to get this blog started since she has a really cool one! Thanks Betheny!

Before I go, I do have one thing to say. Today has been a wonderful day!! I’m 32 years young, have a great husband, two beautiful boys, and a pretty wonderful life! I’m really grateful! Happy Birthday to ME!!!
